The main growing
season is Autumn to late Spring. A new catalogue is presented
in late March-early April each year and up-dated regularly.
Plant availability. Predicting plant readiness is not always
precise! Some lines will not be at a suitable grade for despatch early
in the season. We will advise you if your order is to be delayed and
discuss options.
Minimum order & freight. There is a six plant minimum order
because it costs us the same to send six plants as to send one, outside
the Christchurch area. Of course we are happy to send fewer plants
as we realise many folk don't have room for more, but the freight
payable is the same as for six plants. Charges are as follows:

Special freight quotes for large orders are available by arrangement.
RURAL
SURCHARGE: Courier companies now charge an additional $4.35 per carton, (6 plants), for Rural Delivery addresses. This guarantees
delivery to your door via your R. D. contractor. If you prefer,
you can provide a non-rural delivery address as well as your postal
address when you order; the surcharge can then be omitted but you
must collect your plants from the designated delivery address yourself. |
Orders are generally despatched on the Monday or Tuesday following receipt of order or payment.
'Specimen
grade' plants are large, in-bud and in big bags. They are generally
available ex-nursery only. Please contact us for freight quotes for
mail order.
Notes:
'Usually frost hardy' - known to withstand occasional
winter temperature drops to as low as -10C. Heavy frosts over
successive days can prove fatal however.
'Medium frost hardy '- normally tolerant of
occasional winter temperature drops as low as -5C.
'Light frosts only' - indicates plants will
usually tolerate the odd winter frosts of -1 or -2C.
PVR - plant variety rights apply (may not be
propagated for resale without authority).
