“Queensland tree waratah” An attractive, small growing (3-5m) tree bearing masses of red firewheel like flowers in summer. Idea specimen plant for mild climates as it is frost tender. Provide a warm situation in full sun with free draining soils.

Fine, needle-like leaves with bronze-pink young growth.  Small, funnel-like cream flowers in spring are followed by prominent deep-red cones which persist on the bush for months. May be successfully grown  as a tub plant (don't over-fertilise). A well-drained, sunny position is preferred. Light frosts are tolerated.
